BOCA RATON, FL, Feb. 27, 2020 — Vycor Medical, Inc. (OTCQB: VYCO) Jose Romano, Chief of the Stroke Division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, co-authored a recently published international study that shows that visual rehabilitation is effective for patients who have suffered vision loss related to stroke or traumatic brain injury. The study titled “Efficacy and predictors of Recovery of Function After Eye Movement Training in 296 Hemianopic Patients,” was recently published in the journal Cortex. Led by the University of Aberdeen, it is the largest neuro-visual study of its kind. The research team found that the NeuroEyeCoach visual rehabilitation therapy applied after stroke or other traumatic brain injury (TBI) improved vision in over 80 percent of patients, helping them with everyday tasks and improving their quality of life. The results showed that the treatment improved vision even in an 90-year-old patients. “Up to recently, there was very little treatment available to restore vision loss in this population,” said Romano, noting that while stroke and TBI patients regain some vision on their own, “very few regain it completely.” Blindness among these patients usually stems from injury to the back of the brain where images are interpreted. Enhanced VBAS Facilitates its Integration with Image Guidance Pointers BOCA RATON, Florida, March 6, 2018 — Vycor Medical, Inc. (OTCQB: VYCO) had previously announced in October 2017 to its customer base the release of its enhanced VBAS, which it would be slowly rolling out over the course of this year as it ran down its inventory of the current VBAS. Following surgeon feedback Vycor has decided that it will from now be shipping only the enhanced model VBAS across the complete main range of 12 VBAS sizes. As previously announced the Company has been working on improving how its VBAS integrates with the most common Image Guidance System (“IGS”) pointers on the market. The Company believes that the enhanced VBAS model that is now being shipped across the main range should make the use of a pointer more intuitive and easy. This has involved molding a cup inside the bottom end of the introducer part of the VBAS. The purpose of the cup is to enable the pointer to be rested at the bottom of the introducer without protruding through the hole at the tip, and also help center the pointer in the device. The cup has been designed in […] The post Vycor Announces That it is Accelerating the Roll-out of its Enhanced VBAS due to Surgeon Feedback appeared first on Vycor VBAS.

BOCA RATON, Florida, March 16, 2016 — Vycor Medical, Inc. (“Vycor”) (OTCQB-VYCO), a provider of innovative and superior surgical and therapeutic solutions, announced that it has launched the VBASMini, the smallest and most minimally invasive model in its range of ViewSite Brain Access System devices. The VBASMini was developed in close collaboration with a leading neurosurgeon who had identified a need to develop a much smaller VBAS than those currently available to allow for less invasive surgery yet still enable the use of instruments. The VBASMini is the largest clear device available that can fit through a burr hole yet still provides a large enough working channel to be useful in neurosurgery, and was designed to overcome the limitations of carrying out work through the likes of an endoscopic sheath. The smaller size also enables minimally invasive approaches to areas where existing retractors are too potentially invasive, such as the ventricles. The VBASMini comes in two lengths and is half the diameter of Vycor’s current smallest VBAS device and is now available for purchase. The VBASMini can retrieve a larger specimen than through a conventional neuro-endoscope and can be used to remove intracerebral hematomas, drain abscess, remove an intra-ventricular tumor […] The post Vycor Medical Launches VBASMini appeared first on Vycor VBAS.
